Angelica

In order to create the installation “Angelica”, Emanuela Mastria painted 120 watercolours on handmade paper. The artist has chosen to represent the maidenhair fern which in nature grows near shaded water courses. To represent the theme of “REMANSO Ten reflection on Fiber Art” she was inspired by the characther of Angelica in the Orlando furioso by Ludovico Ariosto. After an extenjuating escape finally finds rest in a flowering grove. Ariosto’s fluctuating verses represent the water of the stream.
